systems

workflow implementation

I performed a systems audit for a small, boutique lighting and design firm. The company was eager to expand, but piecemeal processes had accumulated over the years and were straining under current volume. The firm needed infrastructure to separate design projects from distribution projects in a cohesive manner that could withstand growth.

Because the firm was CAD-based and already in a Microsoft environment, a full SharePoint migration was the logical transition. I split design and distribution by year for navigability and separated marketing materials from CAD-based work, providing the foundation for straightforward onboarding of future marketing hires.

A dashboard collates data from the potential project database to show executives the monetary value of work in the pipeline, making it clear where to direct future sales efforts.

To put more structure around business development, I created a potential project database in SharePoint. Power Automate creates a folder system once basic information is entered. From there, scripts run when proposal drafts are added to those folders, updating status and contract fee. These flows feed directly into project setup once work is won.
